I just failed to find anything remotely romantic in this setup. Maybe I'm not the ideal audience for this story, but I do generally love a cheesy holiday romance. I haaaaate that kind of trope, jerks should not be given a pass on their gross behavior because they have "nearly translucent blue eyes" and a chiseled jaw. The female characters also does a total 180 on hating the jerky male character after she sees a picture and realizes he's attractive. If anything it sounds like a pretty solid HR complaint. With all we've learned about workplace harassment in the last few years, I'm not sure why this is treated as meet-cute fodder. Shortly after that he physically coerces her into dancing after she declined, and that's basically when I was done. Then at a WORK party she spills a drink on him and tries to wipe it up, and he makes a totally gross joke about how maybe he should spill his drink on her (so he can wipe at her chest, hilarious, right?).
First he reads a private email of hers and comments that he asked around about her and heard she was attractive (this is from his WORK email account). But within that first 25 minutes the male characters harasses the female character, in a work setting, several times. I will admit, I didn't make it past the first 25 minutes, so maybe it gets better. She dealt with it directly and took away it’s power.I'm struggling to understand how this story got written and marketed as a romance in the Me Too era. It required some time to work through her past, yet she quit running. Autumn might have been his ideal lady, however he was the ideal man. He has a big heart and his successful life was hard-earned.
We’ll will see Donovan in his elements and fall more loved with him. So many extraordinary characters and side plots. It’s the ideal time for her to share the weight so she can open her heart and let love in. Autumn has been in hold mode for such a long time. He is sweet and smart, but knows she’s keeping down. The sexual tension will hit an untouched high as Donovan takes his move. And he’s determined to show her how she affects him. But, he’s not willing to leave so that they could be together. But, she is seeing somebody that has a connection with Donovan. When they come together again, sparks fly once again.
