It was something I didn't think could come from Japan's comics scene, since most of the manga is basically campy shit excreted by artists who all draw with the same style. Its thick black cover and roughly 300-page girth are a sign of things to come: this is a black, bleak story, complicated and convoluted. Yes, this manga can be described by the latter. One who writes shitty slice of life manga (SOLANIN), and the other whom writes realistic biblical horror, as if James Joyce was a mangaka who dabbled in Lynchian territories.
